· BD-Live is included on this Magnolia Home Entertainment Blu-ray Disc release. This requires the user to be on a “Profile 2.0” capable Blu-ray Disc Player with Internet connectivity. It allows you to access online content such as trailers for other films from the studio. However, having said that, this feature has not yet been activated as it says “check back soon for updates” when you select it from the menu. · “Shotgun Mode” (1:46:27 – 1080p HD) is an interactive behind-the-scenes feature that plays along with the movie. This allows the viewer to hit the ENTER button on their Blu-ray Disc Player’s remote when the reticle icon appears in the left hand corner of the screen. Each time you’ll get a Hi-Def video clip of behind-the-scenes footage that relates to the scene. The feature DOES NOT use Bonus View or do Picture-In-Picture to do this, it branches out into a separate viewing experience — similar to Universal’s U-Control. This feature is also included on the DVD version of the film, so it’s not THAT complex although it does prove to be enjoyable and informative. You can also watch all of these video clips together in a “play all” feature at the special features section of the main menu. · Audio Commentary with Jason Eisner (Director) and Rutger Hauer (Star) · Audio Commentary with Jason Eisner (Director), John Davies (Writer), Rob Cotterill (Producer), and David Brunt (Grindhouse Trailer “Hobo”) · “More Blood, More Heart: The Making of Hobo with a Shotgun” (45:22 – 1080p HD) is very thorough and proves to be very informative about how this film came to be. It doesn’t serve as much as a behind-the-scenes (during filming) view as much as the stuff in “Shotgun Mode” and that’s great as it has the obvious more “making of” feel to it. Talk of how the original Grindhouse trailer came to be and such are found here. · Deleted Scenes (5:58 – 1080p HD) · “Alternate Ending” (0:33 – 1080p HD) · “Video Blogs” (SD) prove to be very entertaining. These all were originally on the official website. · “Camera Test Reel” (3:28 1080p HD) is from March 17th, 2010 and was a test of the Red MYSTERIUM X camera, as well as the CANON MARK IV and CANON T2I cameras which did not end up being used on the final film. · “Fangoria Interviews” (44:29 – SD) includes interviews with Rutger Hauer and Jason Eisener. · “HDNet: A Look at Hobo with a Shotgun” (5:13 – 1080p HD) features interviews with Rutger Hauer and Jason Eisener as they show you some scenes from the film. · “Grindhouse Trailer Contest Winner: Hobo with a Shotgun” (2:09 – SD) gives you the trailer that got this film eventually made. · “Hobo with a Shotgun Faux Trailer Contest Winner: Van Gore” (2:01 – SD) hopefully will also get made into a feature-length motion picture. · Redband U.S. Theatrical Trailers (4:08 – SD) · “Canadian TV Spots” (0:46 – SD) · Digital Copy of the film is included. This is ONLY compatible with iTunes portable devices, as well as Mac and PC computers. |
